i have major fears about snakes & rodents(rats,mice,gofers)please dont make fun of me i know i shouldnt b afraid of those things but i cant help it!tho i must say the one gross thing im not afraid of is a spider those dont bother me.oh sorry n e way...umm i would like 2 get over my fears but its reallly hard 4 me.4 example yesterday me & my mother were getting out of the car & my cat was eating a gofer in my garage!!!!i flipped out!i refused 2 get out of the car & my mom was yelling at me.my mom kept telling me 2 get out but i was too scared ...i know... im stupid.well n e way i started 2 cry...wow im getting embarresed just writing this down lol.n e way it ended up that my mom had 2 get back in the car with me & drive me 2 the front door so that i didnt have 2 go in the garage where my cat & the gofer were.& i have had many moments like that b4 TRUST me!u dont even want 2 know what happened when i saw a garden snake OMGi know that those those things wont hurt me but i cant help it!

i have a suggestion. u can maybe go to a pet store and ask to kinda pet some animals like snakes or mice. employees will usually let you... they do anything to sell pets! but n e way, u don't even have to pet them! just being around them and seeing they most likely won't hurt you. you will realize after a while these animals arent that bad!

ooh, one more thing. you can volunteer at your local humane society. i'm not sure about your state, but mine (WI) has a wildlife organization. you could work with snakes there. most humane societies do not allow animals out for adoption unless they are sure they won't hurt anyone.

Aside from bad English, this is a form of OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) that is best handled by therapy with a psychiatrist and licensed psychologist. The symptoms of OCD can be lessened through CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) for some patients. I am not qualified to diagnosis mental illness. This note is for information purposes, only.

You don't just have a fear, you have a phobia. I used to have a phobia of spiders, but I don't anymore. I still don't like them, but I'm not TERRIFIED of them anymore.
