well of course it is, just taking the brain out of the child's head and putting it in hot soapy water is enough to traumatize a child for life.

I've thought about this a lot, and the conclusion is that no matter what, all children are going to be indoctrinated with opinionated beliefs in some fashion. Regardless, it's kind of people's right to raise their children how they want, so long as they aren't inflicting serious physical or mental damage.
This video was frightning for sure. Jesus Camp DEFINITELY pushes a strong point of view- of only because it's marketing strategy generalizes from the one group portrayed in the film to say that groups of Evang. youth are poised to take over the country. However it is not representive of Christians whatsoever.
For what its worth ... The school from the movie has been closed down.

I believe that psychlogical child abuse is not only more pervasive but much more damaging that physical abuse. I experienced it when I was a child and there are lasting consequences well into adulthood. For many people, there is no esacpe, and they grow up fearful, aggressive, resentful and self-hating. Its a sad legacy that we give to children.
The worst part is that people have this idea that children are "resilent" and they will forget trauma or somehow magically get over it. Instead, studies find that childhood trauma imprints itself into a memory matrix against which all later experiences are based. This means that if a girl has a father that is manipulative and controlling, she will view all men that way, and learn to alternately hate men like that and yet seek them out.
Childhood conditioning (brainwashing) is almost impossible to get over, even with years of therapy. And, like all conditioning, even after abandoned, its much easier to reactive then in unconditioned people. Meaning that the reoccurance of such abuse in the adults life is highly likely, either by a church "cult" or by someone is a position of power over them. They are also much more likely to blame themselves later than people that did not experience such brainwashing.
As I said, the legacy we leave our children is appaling. I can't believe that in a civilized world we still allow these things.

It's sad.
They're only children and their parents have allowed strangers to brainwash them.
Damn right it's child abuse.

Very scary... if there were a christ, and he saw what these people were doing to children, he'd take a whip to their parents just like he did to the moneychangers in the temple....

If you ever felt God work in your life you wouldn't be saying this. Faith is a gift to treasure and I wish I had it.
Do you ever think maybe you're the brainwashed one?

I bet if it was "Richard Dawkins Camp," atheists would be lined up for blocks to enroll their kids.

I can't brainwash my daughter...I don't know how to brainwash people.
If anyone tells my daughter that she'll go to hell if she doesnt do something, then She will tell them, How do you know, are you God. ;o)
