i have erased programs on pc using a program called eraser but sometimes i get message saying delete the registry value .what does it mean ?

It means it's deleting a value in the Windows registry. The core set of keys for runing your entire computer. Better be careful doing that.

if you are using the programmes uninstall utility, and that is asking to delete registry values then say 'yes'.
the registry holds all info about your computer settings, software, hardware, profiles etc.....some values are not easily recognised as belonging to certain programmes so it is unwise to delve into the registry yourself, what may look like it does not belong to a programme could be an important system file.
every time you install something, registry values are added, when you uninstall something it usually leaves some files behind and this can slow your comp down over time....this is why a format and reinstall speeds your comp up, windows scans the registry constantly, a format removes all the rubbish.

registry entry's are pointers to files etc on your PC. when you uninstall programs it should delete the entry's that go with that program but this isn't always the case. This leaves lots of junk in your registry which needs tidying up later

exactly what it says it'll delete a registry key
the registry is a huge data base used by windows to keep important information if you delete the wrong thing windows won't boot or it could become unstable so be careful what you delete
