I met this girl at the club a month ago. She insisted on giving me her number, and because she's cute I accepted. I called her the following week to see if she wanted to do something and she first asks who I am (because she says she met a lot of guys that night) and then says she's in the middle of something and says she'll call back. I take that as a sign and let it go.
Now I get a text message from her saying she's got a new number. Why tell me?

She's desperate.

It's best if you just ignore her. If she doesn't remember you and 'met alot of guys that night,' then she's on a man-hunt.

People can legitimately be busy at a certain time and really not have time to do something or talk with you. Give her the benefit of a doubt and try again. Usually on the third time she says no, you can rest assured that she is putting you off.

She's telling you her new number because she gave you her old number. The implication is that it's okay for you to call her even though she hasn't called you back yet.

Take this at face value- if she says she's busy, perhaps she really was busy and couldn't talk. It would also explain why she couldn't remember you that one night, because she was focused on something else. Perhaps she still wants to get together, and she texted you so you could try calling her again?

She is attempting to keep her prospects open or she did a mass text to everyone in her cell phone. Personally, I would move on.

I think for some god awful reason she put you in her address book. Then when she changed phones she just sent a text to everyone in her address book. YOu included.

This may be paranoia, but I'd invest in a good pair of running shoes if I were you.
