I have a cabinet oven and it's very expensive. It's integrated into the kitchen and would be very pricey to replace so I was wondering if anyone knows what might be going on...
Here's the problem:
When I turn my microwave on even with nothing inside, sparks fly like crazy. It's as if I have put something metal inside but there isn't. Has this happened to anyone before? Is it just completely busted? A loose wire perhaps? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It happened to me before but not on such an expensive unit. I called in a repair man and he said that it was a tiny peice of dried something stuck to or near the metal plate that's on the inside. I went in with a scouring pad and recleaned every bit of that plate and everything around it and it stopped doing it.
Hope that helps

I've repaired many a microwave. But I wouldn't touch that one. I hear you about the built-in, but I would never trust it again.

If the replacement is smaller, you might be able to make an insert that would frame it nicely (a filler). It can either match or nicely contrast with the surrounding cabinet.
