how do chihuahuas get pregnant?

I have two chihuahuas but the girl never gets pregnant what is wrong is their supposed to be a special time or something

Well the only a female dog can get pregnant is when she is in heat. The entire "Heat" period lasts an average of 21 days give or take.The actual "breeding time" is only a matter of 2 or 3 days in the 3 week period, but this time can be very difficult to determine.
Normally it is about 12 days after the bleeding starts. When the bleeding has slowed and thinned to pink. that is usually the time she will flag the male and will allow him to mount her. sometimes the male or female will never really become intrested ( i have seen that happen..) eg.if the male is too young still or inexperience or just isnt intrested. and sometimes females just wont allow a male to mount her. also note that even though a dog may tie it doesnt always mean puppies are soon to follow. its very simular to a human female procreating it doesnt always happen the first few trys and sometimes not at all. also do alot of researching and talking to vets as dogs can have problems whelping,mastitis etc and pups can also have there own problems so always have a good vet handy just in-case. good luck!!

This is a question you should really be asking your parents. A female Chihuahua has to have a successful mating with a male Chihuahua to get pregnant. Your pets may not be mating because they are either not sexually mature or they are "fixed" (ie. spayed/neutered). Mating means having sex. This is really a topic to ask your parents if you do not already know where babies come from. :-)

well you typically have to wait for her to be in heat, and that usually happens twice a year and for small dogs usually last no longer than a week. but like one guy said, one of them may not be able to get pregnant or get the other pregnant. usually you'll want to wait for her second heat, around the age of one and a half, and the boy needs to be over the age of ten- twelve weeks, if you have any more questions, especially since this is concerning two other live animals, you need to talk to a vet and let him tell you what to do, because remember the people that answer these questions are just regular Joe's like me and you, they're not know it alls!

Well, since I own a chihuahua farm I must tell you, they have to be in love. Then together they build a small chihuahua hut to which they invite other chihuahuas over for a small party. After the party one chihuahua gets jealous and the other chihuahua solaces that first chihuahua and one kicks the other out. The one that gets kicked out goes to another chihuahua's hotel room because he/her was from out of town and has sex. Right then and there chihuahua puppies are born because it is a spontaneous situation. Typically the guy runs away.

Well you have to get a boy chihuahua. They are just like people you have to keep trying. If not see your doctor, some girl dogs can't get pregnant just like woman.
