This person doesn't wash her hands after using the bathroom. In fact, she even pees on the seat and doesn't wipe it up! Then she'll finger through any food that's in the kitchen, such as candy etc. Trouble is, she's our boss! How do we handle this? Is there anything we can say to her

Handle this carefully, if she is your boss, you don't want to offend her. I would post a professional sign in the rest rooms(you can probably print one off the computer) that states that your hands need to be washed after using the rest room.

Post one in the break room also that states please wash you hands before handling food. This is common hygiene, not to mention State law in most states (in the work place). In addition, you could post a sign stating something like "Your Mother doesn't work here..please clean up after yourself".

Pallo's sugguests are gold also...especially the last paragraph...this works like a charm!

Good Luck

How do you know about her behavior? I would be very careful about this unless you have personally witnessed and even then what can you really say ....here's some tips

Now day's most items of food ( candy, etc) can be purchased individually wrapped. Perhaps you all that are buying these items could spend a little extra to get the individually wrapped kind. You could also put a little of the item in the kitchen and keep the rest at your desk ( of course I'm talking about NON perishable items)

If she is touching the phones and stuff keep some of that sanitizing gel around to clean your hands after her. They also have LYSOL wipes that you could use ( discreetly) to clean after her if your worried.

Now about the peeing on the seat and not wiping it up..it's a nasty habit but you can't confront a person over this ...Especially if it's the boss. Your not in there with her so maybe just maybe she's not the guilty party. At most I can suggest when you ALL are having a casual friendly talk jokingly bring it up ... Don't mention her name but say something like .. " I thought ladies were supposed to be neat in the bathroom... someone keeps peeing on the seats and doesn't wipe it up...Laugh laugh .. Just keep it light. Any self respecting person is going to wonder ( gee do I do that) ... and self correct ! Good Luck she sounds like a mess.

while you're a supervisor, you have each and every suitable to confront him approximately this. If he would not pay attention to you, you need to declare some thing on your extra advantageous. Complimenting him on the sometime of the week whilst he seems good isn't probably to get the factor in the time of to him. His hygiene, the type you describe it, is appalling, and the only thank you to handle him is to be blunt with him. yet another situation you need to do is communicate on your supervisor approximately, perchance, organizing a 'protection assembly' each and every now and then. Have between the assembly's subject concerns be approximately own hygiene interior the area of work, and the a threat unfold of germs. additionally, you need to positioned up a regular sign interior the bathing room to handle the bathing room situation. it ought to examine some thing like, "Our objective is to maintain this bathing room sparkling. gents, your objective will help." (There are actual signs and indicators you need to purchase that say this!) That way, that's going to offer human beings a stable chortle, and perchance get the message in the time of to those who would desire to be certain it. those are purely some techniques. There are extra interior the hyperlink under! wish this enables.

Are you sure she doesn't wash somewhere else? Some people do not use public sinks they carry their own hand wash & wipes. There are more germs on a sink than I care to touch. Thats probably how she pees on the seat. Women who squat instead of sitting usually pee on the seat. If she didn't want to touch it with her buttocks why would she touch it with her hand to wipe it off? Those little tissues made to place on a toilet seats aren't going to stop any transmission of any germs. They just make you feel better about using a public toilet.

Post signs in the bathroom, and now is an opportune time with the new strain of norwalk virus. Have it say " There is a nasty bug going around nationwide, please wash your hand"
Place a few bottles of hand sanitizer around in bathroom and break rooms. Post the sign in the break room Please use hand sanitizer before handling food . It is only common sense and courtesy to try to prevent the spread of germs.
Personally though, if she is not washing her hands after using the bathroom, she is a pig.

Well one thing is this. After she comes out of the bathroom, have someone go in after..see the pee and make a remark loudly...or just talk to her about cleanliness r have it as a topic at the next meeting as a general, not a "her" topic.

Since she is your boss, send an anonymous note through the mail. Be sure she can't trace it. I worked with a woman who didn't wash her hands and her co-workers called her, "pee pee hands." Not to her face of course.

I did send an anonymous note through the mail to my boss because he always had a terrible breath. After he received the note, he kept a dish on his desk with mints in it. It really helped.

This is beyond disgusting! I would casually mention lack of hygiene in front of her, but not specifically about her and see how she reacts.Maybe she'll get the point without you having to confront her directly.Until then don't eat anything she takes to potlucks!

If she's the boss I'd be very careful. look at the relationship between you and her. If it is a good one I would risk telling her but do it very directly, matter of factly. If you dont have a good relationship then I would leave it be.

This is a tough one.
I will give you a quote that I put up:
