I'm 15, in a stable, loving, nonsexual relationship with an 18-year old. We've been in love for two years, dating for about one, and though my parents know and completely approve (he's a really great guy) I've been keeping it a secret from my friends and family.

What reactions should I expect from other people who don't know the two of us well?

Hm.

The three year seperation is a big gap, and most people aren't exactly willing to just dismiss it, esspecially for people as young as yourselves. Depending on the personality, I would expect about 80% of the people to go, "Wow! You guys were in love when you were 13 and 16? I don't believe it... It was just puppy love-" Etc. They might not believe that you're in love with a guy at the young age of 15, but I'm sure if they are nice friends they'll understand and support you/ (after a little while of getting used to it.)

Make sure to tell them really easily, and that you do it personally. Otherwise it seems like you don't care about your friend and family's feelings.

Alot of people will be shallow and look at the age difference as a major factor, alot of people will say a person as young as you couldn't possibly know what it is to be in a real relationship. But I say "**** EM!" Sweetie you only live once and true love only comes for about 75% of us.So how do you know if ti's real or not if you let it pass u by because of a few years? My boyfriend is 31 to my 21 and his family thinks he's going through a mid life crisis but we've never been happier I say if your parents are cool and he has a positive influence on your life then Gone Girl!

Good for you for resisting sex - keep it that way till you are both old enough to be responsible about your decisions, ie, when you are married.

Your parents' approval is the best indication of how others should react to the neews that you have a boyfriend, since they tend to be overprotective of their children. If they truly approve, then he must be pretty great and your friends should have no problem.
