My mom was pregnant with me for 6 months in Germany before she came to the states in 1990, and she had lived there for 7 years for the military. With the Red Cross not accepting blood donors from certain European countries because of the mad cow disease, am I unable to donate? I really want to, but I'm afraid they wont let me because of my mom's pregnancy.

You should be able to donate, but you can check the red cross website or simply call your local red cross chapter to find out. I do hope you can donate and do. If you can, try donating platelets. They are more useful and donated less. If you can't donate, you can still help out as a volunteer. The red cross always needs volunteers during a blood drive or at the local office.

I would not be too concerned about it. If you are you can have yourself checked out by your physician.
