You mean the stake that he was hung on? Pontius Pilate puts a sign on the top of it in 3 languages so that everyone can read it: Hebrew, in the official Latin, and in the common Greek that reads: “Jesus the Nazarene the King of the Jews.”

Apparently, he writes this not only because he respects Jesus but because he loathes the Jewish priests for their having wrung Jesus’ death sentence from him. These same priests complain after seeing the sign and demand that Pilate change it, but he responds "What I have written I have written."
