i have an ASHLEY kitchen table with a really glossy finish and when i put anything hot on it i get hot spots in the gloss and i have to rub real hard and keep rubbing things like pledge and sutch into it to get rid of them, is there an easier way?

that is because ashley furniture is cheap quality. i'm sure you have already noticed that though.
next time you should go for cochrane.

as for your question - you can try vaseline and let it sit for 24 to 48 hours.

Use placemats under the dishes. Put hot pans on top of an oven mit
