In Islam, Allah did not die for the sins of those who were not his. In the Bible, God did do that. In Islam, Allah has not performed the greatest act of love. In the Bible, God did exactly that.
My question to you is "Why would you want to give up the Lord who loves you so much that He would die for you, and did, for a god who has not and cannot perform the greatest act of love?

hello there, converting to islam is not hard at all but i would recomend that you start reading some general books to get some knowledge about the religion and requirements. after you have some knowledge than start reading the quran. there are books to show you exactly how to pray and give you the specific times when to pray. you can also find this kind of information on google. once you have some knowledge about the religion, not necesarilly a lot, you than have to say; i bear witness that there is only one god and that mohamed is the last messenger of god. after you say this you are a muslim. it is very important to practice and follow as i am sure you will find out from reading any books. i hope this answer has helped you, if you need more info please do not hesitate to contact me at . shkoza2002@yahoo.co.uk

It is just simple:

The act of becoming a Muslim could not be simpler.

An individual needs to make the declaration, known as al-shahaadatain.

Arabic is the language of the Holy Quran, and you will see below that the declaration has been written in Arabic transliteration to make it easy for you to follow. The English translation is provided in the brackets.

The declaration is in two parts:

Ash-hadu alla ilaaha illallah
(I bear witness and attest that there is no god worthy of worship but the One God Allah (swt))

Wa ash-hadu anna Muhammad-ar-rasool ullaah
(I bear witness and attest that Muhammad (saaw) is the messenger of Allah (swt))

An individual who finds belief in Islam within his heart can become a Muslim by pronouncing the above declaration. Alhumdalillah.

As a muslim certain Islamic duties are now obligatory on the individual, but there is no need to feel scared or concerned about this. There are many sources of help for you, and many new brothers and sisters that will be very keen to assist you.

I am a recent convert myself. And I was also raised Catholic. The way that I have come to understand it, one only needs to pray (with brutally honest conviction) to God declaring one's belief in the absolute Supremacy of the ONE TRUE GOD and all that that entails and also in the belief that Qur'an is the unmitigated Word of God and that Muhammad (Peace be upon him) is His pre-eminent Messenger. It is that simple. Islam is not "just" a mere religion, it is a way of life. Please feel free to email me, friend. And if I can offer an unsolicited suggestion...a good starting point may be The Gospel of Barnabas (barnabas.net). Also I have a "space" chock full of info I find very helpful... http://cybermuzlim.spaces.live.com... Check it out and feel free to let me know what you think. Good luck, friend.

to convert to islam you simply say and believe that there is No God except Allah and that Mohammad is his Messenger. Once you say this sentence, you automatically become Muslim. From there, you start carrying on with the duties of Islam. You must do what Allah and His messenger tell you to, and stay away from what they tell you to. Islam does not tell you to do anything unless it is good for you. It also does not tell you to stay away from anything unless it is bad for you. You will notice the change in the way you look at things, the minute you become a Muslim.
To become a Muslim, simply say the following words:

Ash hadu alla ilaha illa Allah, wa ash hadu anna Mohammadan abduhu wa rasuluhu.

This means I testify and witness that there is no god worthy of being worshipped other than Allah and that Mohammad is his Messenger. You must say it and believe in it.

but u really should decide to become Muslim after reading, understanding, and being convinced, then u r greatly rewarded for it in this life and the next. And if that decision encourages others to join Islam too, then the reward is doubled: one portion for your own decision (multiplied many times), and an equal portion for the person you have helped guide to God's path with reason and gentle advice. If that person is a family member, the reward multiplies even more, since Islam places a great value on family stability and strengthening marital bonds.

you don’t absolutely have to do it publicly. After all, Islam is, first, about your relationship with your Creator and, second, about your relationship with others. However, it is a good idea to pronounce the Shahadah (testimony of faith) before one or more Muslim witnesses—or even by phone or Internet through some Web sites—because there are some legal ramifications in the case of your death, such as issues of burial and inheritance from you. I hope that does not frighten you, but Muslims must always keep in mind that they can die at any minute. None of us has any guarantee that we will live to see tomorrow. And, of course, if you ever get the chance to make Hajj—which I hope you will some day—you might need some documentation that you are Muslim in order to get a visa.

The salah is what distinguishes a Muslim from a non-Muslim, so it is essential that you learn to perform salah as soon as possible. You may have to change your sleeping habits a bit so that you can get up in time for the Fajr (dawn) Prayer, and it might take some ingenuity to find the time or place to pray at work. But it is so vital for your relationship with Allah.
For some the salah seems like a burden, but it only takes a total of perhaps 45 minutes a day. It is also refreshing—physically and spiritually—so it can actually help you to be better in your work; it should never be thought of as a waste of time.

My last piece of advice to you, isnot to let yourself be overwhelmed by all the new things you have to learn as a new Muslim. Be easy on yourself—but not lax. Allah doesn’t expect you to change overnight. But be steady (and slow) in your efforts. Improve yourself gradually. Don’t try to suddenly make too many lifestyle changes at one time; especially don’t throw yourself into doing many extra voluntary acts of worship. Learn the essentials, perform the essentials, and then gradually increase.

welcome to islam.

You say the shahadah:

"I bear witness there is no God but God and Muhammad is his messenger".

You say the arabic as well 3 times:
"As shadu la-illahu wa ashadu un muhammadun abdu wa rasulluh"

You can do this alone, at a mosque, wherever you want. There are a hundred of sites out there to help you.

Insha'allah you are serious and not just religion shopping. May Allah help you on the straight path.

First of all, study the Quran if you can.

You haven't mentioned where you live, but if there is a mosque nearby, you can always visit there and I'm sure there will be Muslims more than willing to help you.

May God bless you. And good luck!

To convert, the first thing you have to do is to say your shahadat.
If you are looking for rules and stuff, you can email me.
I'm a Shiat Muslim by the way.

EDIT:
"Ash-hado an la elah ella Allah, Ash-hado anna Mohammad-an rasool Allah..."
AND we Shiats have a third part
"...Ash-hado anna Ali-on vali Allah"
