If I bend or whatever I get light headed quick and almost feel faint especially during yoga or any type of exercise... how can I increase blood flow to prevent this?

Seriously, try eating a banana before hand. You also may be anemic. Try adding iron rich foods into your diet.

Doing forward bends, especially from a standing posture, increases upper body vasodilation (the blood vessels widen, which reduces blood pressure). When you come out of the pose, the sudden change in blood pressure can cause dizziness.

When coming up from a forward bend, inhale deeply while rising. Move slowly, and never hold your breath. If you sense that you might faint, come to the floor and relax until that "wave" passes. If you have high or low blood pressure, this pose is still safe but you still have to be cautious. In case of chronic dizziness, I recommend that you take a deep breath before exiting the pose; then use the exhalation to guide your body into a horizontal position (halfway up). Pause, and then use an inhalation to bring you the rest of the way up. It takes a little longer, but this maneuver should help level the blood pressure.

Namaste.

it happens when you start. should get better with time. yoga forces blood circulation into all parts of your body. so you have to be very careful about it. start off slow. dont try to do too much too soon. you have to let your body adapt to it slowly.
if you have heart / b.p. problem, make sure you have a good instructor guiding you.
