I am currently working for full time. May 31th will be my last day at work. And i'm moving to another city for school.

I will be working but it will be only a part time. And I'm planning to get financial aid for my tuition. I've been planning this for few months now but part-time job wouldn't pay all my monthly expenses.

I want to know if there is any financial aid that supports personal living cost. My salary right now is 30,000.00 a year. Since I have to get financial aid by April this year. I have to summit my income tax from 2006. If there is personal living support aid, can I still apply for it with 30,000 income?

And i'm 27 so I guess I can apply it without putting my parents name....right?

Please help.

They will use your last years taxes to base your financial aid award amount. Many people don't realize this, but the amount is actually set by your school, not the government. Based on how much they have figured tuition and living expenses are for the college you are attending they will give you a dollar figure. If that money is not enough, you can always go talk to your financial aid department and sometimes they can increase your amount, especially if you can show them a budget and prove that you will have financial hardship without it.
Yes you can apply by yourself. Because of your age you are considered an independant student.

Yes, with the FAFSA, anyone 24 or older does not need to include parent information.

When a college's financial aid office determines how much aid to give someone, they use the information provided on the FAFSA along with the school's cost of attendance to determine the amount of aid the student needs. The cost of attendance includes things like tuition, fees, books, transportation, and cost of living.

I make about $11, 000 a year and I get enough financial aid to cover all my expenses, but I honestly have no idea how much financial aid they would give someone with your salary. I'd say fill out the FAFSA and see what your financial aid office offers you, you may be surprised.

Good luck!
