How do you know if a man is interested in you?

I've been getting the same train home for a couple of years now, but for the past few months have been seeing the same person on the train and in the local supermarket. It started with just smiles and the odd greeting, but recently i've bumped into him at the bus stop. He started to talk to me, asked my name and where i worked, also where i went out to on an evening. I quite like this guy. Do you think he's interested in me? What do i do? I dont want to make fool of myself by asking him for a drink. HELP PLEASE!

Sounds like he is quite chatty with you, and to ask where you go to on an evening is past normal 'friendly' chat, sounds like he has an interest in you! Perhaps if you keep talking to him he may ask you out for a drink, you could drop subtle hints when your talking to him, tell him where you like to go and maybe mention you fancy going out on the weekend but havn't arranged anything yet! Or you could be brave and just ask him, the worst he could say would be no, and by the sounds of things I don't think he would say no! At least then you would know either way. From experience people of the opposite sex usually don't give you the "interview," unless they are interested. It seems like he is interested. Why he didn't ask you for a drink is perplexing. Don't be afraid to ask him out to a drink. It is normal and not really a date or anything. You really wouldn't have anything to lose.
