For English we have to write about how a movie is an Epic? I wasn't in school when we went over it, but the teacher said I have to get it done (argh) and gave me the movie King Kong. Now considering I've never even seen the movie, I don't know how she expects me to do this. Here are the notes I copied:

Epic:

1. Physically impressive hero of nation or historical importance

2. Vast setting involving the physical world and sometimes land of the dead

3. Action such as a quest or journey taken in search of something of value

4. Evidence of supernatural forces

5. Glorification of hero at end

6. Rootedness in a specific culture or society

So if someone who has seen the movie King Kong tell me how it relates to those 6 ideas, that would be great. The assignment is due soon and I really know nothing about the movie itself.

Thanks

Thats ridiculous that a teacher would tell you what movie to watch and report on. Just go to Wikipedia.com or something and read up on it and throw something down on paper.

*SPOILER WARNING*
Fine I guess I'll try and tell u some stuff
1) King Kong is physically impressive because...well he's huge. I think in the movie he is like 25 feet tall so thats saying something.
2) They main characters find King Kong on an island called Skull Island (where these crazy tribal people live who try and capture and kill whoever sets foot on their island).
3)In the movie Jack Black is a desperate Movie Maker who takes his camera on Skull Island trying to capture footage of the amazing landscape and ancient creature like dinosaurs and huge insects and of course...King Kong himself.
4) Well for this maybe that King Kong actually fought and took down three grown T-Rex's in the movie might tell you that he's supernatural
5) At the end King Kong is shot many times by air attacks from battle planes while he is on top of the empire state building and gets killed honorably(he's up there to try and protect Ann Darrow).
