This is called begging the question and is a great fallacy. It is sad when xians use this kind of logic.

If I know for a fact that what they have said is a lie, my response is to say, "Tell me another one before that one gets cold". That was something my grandmother said when we tried lying to her. At that point there was nothing to do but admit the truth and take the punishment for lying in the first place.

The Bible is the truth there are many facts that prove it so, but most people refuse to admit that the facts are right in front of their eyes. Such as, our very existence. How could that possibly be an accident.

A: You know it's a lie, but the teller thinks it's the truth.
B: You know it's a lie, and the teller knows it's a lie.
C. You think it's the truth and the teller thinks it's the truth
D: You think it's the truth but the teller knows it's a lie.

Quite the contrary, if someone adds the rider that they are telling the truth my first thought is NOT to believe them.
