Anyone know about, on average, how many flights a week and the average hours of those flights a cargo pilot flys? I know there are different ranks and things, but if anyone has any idea for any rank? Thanks!

I have been flying cargo for over a year, and yes, it can vary a lot. A FedEx pilot will have a totally differant flight schedule from me. I fly bank work every weekday, every week, with no duty rota (ie I only have days off when I take vacation, a FedEx or similar pilot will work a rota of say 4 days on, 4 days off). I fly Monday through Friday, 6 hrs on Monday and 3 hrs every other day. (75 hrs flying every month). My duty day (time between arriving for work and leaving to go home) is over 13 hrs every day though!

US Cargo carriers are regulated under FAR Part 135 for air-taxis and charters, or under FAR Part 121 for scheduled air carriers. Cargo pilots follow the same rules concerning length of flights and duty hours as passenger aircraft pilots.

The big advantage to flying as a cargo pilot is that you don't have to deal with passengers!
