Soldiers are no different from civilians given the opportunity they will more oft than not cheat. The military is no more guilty of this than the civilians it's just that when a military type gets caught the repercussions are more severe.

Only if most civilians cheat.
The answer is of course not. Soldiers are held to a higher standard than regular people.
The majority don't cheat.

cheat at what? If you are referring to cheating on their wives...well, probably yes, i was a soldier and now i'm a civilian and most men i know cheat, period, so i think the army is the same as everywhere else whether civilian or soldier.

Why do people feel like they have the right to critcize them?
Of course most soldiers don't cheat...its just a stereotype. Its crazy that people think that.Do most civilian cheat? No.Its like saying that all blondes are dumb, or all doctors are bad.

"What goes on on deployment stays on deployment!"
For what ever reason there were plenty of sailors that felt comfortable enough to admit / confess to me what was really going on out there. It ain't pretty!
Of the 300+ sailors on board my husband's small ship there were at least 15 sailors (That I know of personally) that had no problem removing their wedding rings before heading off for shore while in South America.
Several of them had laptops full of porn that they would actually CHARGE OTHER SAILORS FOR VIEWING to make extra money to pay for the PROSTITUTES they would round up later on.
Imagine, running off the ship for shore leave, fighting to get to the nearest pay phone so you can call home and please the wife and family only to get off the phone about 10 minutes later and grab a taxi to the nearest whore house. Shameful!
This doesn't even touch on the homosexual affairs that no one talks about, but somehow still know about among the sailors themselves.
My husband and I are both so glad to be away from that filth.
That being said, you don't even want me to get started on what the wives are capable of while their "cheating husbands" are out to sea.

Why does everyone think they have the right to judge and criticize military members?
Soldiers don't cheat on their spouses anymore than civilians do, but you don't ever see any one ask "Do all doctors/teachers/janitors cheat?"

What the hell are you talking about? Cheat at what? Lets all throw mud at our soldier during a time of war and not just our President.

Most? No, but a large number do. When I went to Korea I was shocked at the number of cheaters out in the open. They'd talk to their wife on the phone one minute, and go down to Seoul with their GF the next. Sad.
