when you apply to become a police officer how long dose the whole process take??/How long till you begin the police academy??

it depends on the department, about a week after you apply start calling and don't stop, they will work on you quicker that way. with me the application process was about 4 months. mandate is 3 months.

First you are finger printed and they are sent to the FBI you then have to pass a civic service test and the higher the score the better chance you have of getting called for the next step which is a strenuous agility, both scores are the added then you may be called for a physical then put on the waiting list. It depends, what state you are from and what your racial profile is. Usually they do a background check. Then they do a written test, then a physical agility test. Then they do a oral test. Then if your lucky they might send you to the academy for training.
Some states require that you have certain college credits before you can proceed with anything. It can take from six months to several years.
