Im 13, And Really Intrested In Doing Hair-Dressing When Im Older, Im Really Eager To Start Now, Like Preparing And Studying. Do You Think I'm Too Young To Start Studying Yet, And As I Get Older, It Will All Stick Into My Head, Or Do You Think Its A Good Idea? Anyone Got Any Sites, With Hair-Dressing Reads On Them? That Would Be Great, Thanks :D

In California you can go to beauty college when you are 16. Many girls in our home school group choose to go while they are still in high school because it is cheaper and they can get high school credits for the classes. As soon as graduate from beauty college (Cosmetology school) they can a job working in a hair salon (like "Super Cuts") and put into practice what they have been learning. What you learn in the classes is important, but you really do most of your learning by working in a salon and learning from others with more experience.

I'm 13 too and also want to start my own salon out in los angeles...lol...it's never too early to start studying and making plans...it can't hurt you...the more you know about starting the salon, the easier it will be most likely when it comes time. I'm going to be a hairdresser too (with a salon..lol...) I watch the show Split Ends all the time on the Style network...you should watch it...it's ALL about hair salons! I also bought manequin heads...just to practice...lol. It's never too early to start studying these things..only 4 more years or so and then college baby! =]

for now pay attention to bio classes
and save up money for hairdressing courses cos they cost a lot of u think u wont get the help from anyone else
dont bother with studying for now, just reading anything hair realted would be a good idea though.
u can also go to a hair dressing schoool as a model for the students to see if u still like the idea of being a hairdresser as u watch the students get instructed and learn theory

There really is no point in studying now. What you learn in beauty school is what you need to know to do hair. Unless you already have the guidelines for your state's test...which is not likely. Just be patient. Play with your friends hair. Play with mom/dad's hair. You can go to the store and pick up hair style magazines, maybe you could subscribe to one, and just keep reading up on the new styles. =)

No thats not too young, I think you should go for it because practice makes perfect! You should ask ur mom or dad to buy you some manican headz and practice on those! Thatz what I do, my mom is a hair dresser and she brings home manican headz and I get to use those! No, no I dont want to follow in her foot steps being a hair stylest but I do think it is fun! (I wanna be a pediatrician, or actress, or a magizine editor for cosmo girl or seventeen or something people actually like!

It's not really "studying" so much as practicing, I guess. 13's pretty young. Just mess around with your own hair and do different creative things with it?
