I give my shih tzu a bath just about once every month, so I couldn't tell you from experience with her. On the other hand, I work at a dog kennel and we give baths to the dogs before they go home. If you use a sensitive enough shampoo, you can bathe your dog as often as you want. We use the groomer's edge product line (www.petedge.com). We use groomer's edge - midnight white on the majority of the dogs and Oat Mella on dog's with sensitive skin. They all smell really good and are really good for your dog's coat and skin. The gallons are a bit expensive but they are meant to be diluted a lot so you definitely get your moneys worth!
As for in between baths, they have lots of colognes for dogs. I would also recommend the same line. They have over 10 different scents along with dog deodorants. Hope this helps!
Hope this helps.

you shouldn't bathe your dog too often as it removes the natural oils that helps protect the coat.

i own a doberman, dalmatian, and a border collie cross and only bathe them as necessary.

a combination of regular grooming and a healthy diet helps reduce the smells in the coat accept for the exception of when they roll on poo!

i have found the best shampoo by far, is Johnsons baby shampoo. it's even better at keeping fleas at bay than a dog de fleaer shampoo.
it is mild, great for the coats, and superb for their skin.

my dogs range from 7months - 7 years old and NEVER in a million years have my dogs EVER had a problem or reaction to it, nor will i use anything else.

give it a whirl, you'll be impressed and so will your dog.

in case you do get the canines, purchase a airborne dirt and dirt mop. they're distinctive than a moist mop. you could spray pledge or any of those issues on the mop and bypass alongside the flooring. it will %. up the hair and keep the floor clean. make certain to be responsive to the "in the back of" places. in the back of the settee, in the back of the drapes, etc. After each and every room is airborne dirt and dirt mopped, take the mop onto the porch or out interior the backyard and shake it rather annoying. That'll get the loose hair out of it. Use a similar stuff on one among those swiffer airborne dirt and dirt cloths for the settee and chairs. i might get some cans of Nutra-air spray. It does not placed some form of faux heady scent interior the air, yet neutralizes odors. Spray it close to to the place your doggy sleeps, and the place he hangs out in the process the day. If there are throw pillows on your settee, spray those besides. whenever you alter the linens on your mattress, in the previous putting them into the washer take them outdoors and shake them authentic nicely. it will get rid of a large style of the canines hair it extremely is on them and it won't finally end up interior the bathing device or dryer vent. The furminator will bypass an prolonged way in direction of retaining the laying off to a minimum. They fee a large style of money (i think of) they run over $50. so it is rather useful to start saving some money! that would desire to take care of it. Your mom won't even understand she's have been given a doggy interior the abode! =D

These things are the best and they are easy to find, just go to any local petsmart! They are water free, hassle free, and they dont strip your dog of their nautral oils like baths do. You should only give you dog a real bath with shampoo and everything about every 6 weeks, in between then, if you dog starts to smell and get kind of dirty you can just use these! It cleans off dirt, shedding fur, etc... and makes them smell good!

OR if your pet isnt that dirty and you just want him to smell good between baths try using this....
