A cyclic redundancy check is a method used by digitial systems (like computers) to determine if any bits of data are changed. So if you are getting this error, then there is some data error occuring -- your copy will have problems.

It means that the data cannot be read successfully. Perhaps the medium is old, damaged or something went wrong while recording the data.

If you are copying from CD or DVD, try cleaning the disc with a soft tissue

If you are unzipping/unrarring a compressed file, this means the file has been damaged (perhaps during the download) and you can try downloading it again.

If you are getting the error while accessing your HDD, that can be a sign that your hard drive is dieing and you should back up your data.
