Ok so you know. Not all people can get six packs and not everyone can have a flat stomach. It honestly is in your genetic makeup. Also you won't see any definition in your stomach until you can achieve visceral fat loss through changing your diet and doing cardio to burn the fat. Once you're body fat is down, you will have better results doing crunches, sit-ups, jogging while sucking in your stomach, the machine where you pull your knees into your chest from side to side.... I'll always ive this book rave reviews, the Abs diet it works very well it shows the perfect eating and excercise routine to lose visceral fat as well as fat all over and to add definition to your stomach. Since you are female I suggest stretching a lot before and after your workouts, it leans the area out so you still have a very soft and feminine looking stomach. Other little things you can do is to sit up straight, and suck your stomach in and out while sitting or lying down, this makes a tiny impact in your posture which makes your stomach look smaller as well as tighetning the muscles.

Spot reducing is a myth. Targeting a specific body part with exercise does nothing to the overlaying fat.
ABDOMINAL EXERCISES DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO YOUR BELLY FAT.
You lose fat by burning more calories than you take in.

Sit ups - Lie on your back on the floor on a mat with your feet flat on the floor and your knees bent. Place your hands on either side of your head and execute the exercise by crunching your abs forward, so as to touch your elbows to your knees. Really focus on keeping your midsection contracted throughout the entire exercise. Slowly lower your body back to the start position and repeat.
Crunches-Lie on your back with your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor in front of you. Lie on an exercise mat rather than a hard floor to prevent back strain. Position your feet as wide as your hips. Place your hands behind your head so that your thumbs are tucked behind your ears. Hold your elbows slightly out to the sides and keep your chin pointing upward. Curl up and forward so that your head, neck and shoulder blades lift off the floor. Make sure you're not pulling your head forward with your hands. If your chin is making contact with your chest, the abdominal muscles aren't being used in the exercise. Pause for a moment. Lift your head up enough so that your middle and lower back stay on the floor. Squeeze your abdominals as you pause. Slowly lower your head, neck and shoulder blades to starting position.

The best exercises that work for me are pilates and yoga. They both work on the body's core (abdomen).

do a variety of push-ups, sit-ups, and stomach crunches, and jogging wouldn't hurt.
set up a repetitive routine for these excercises, and you will get results.
