I want to buy a used car that is under 6,000 . Thanks for the help

You are just going to get biased opinions from everyone (including myself) regarding this question. Your safest bet is to get your hands on a copy of Lemon-Aid or Consumer Reports and do some research.

All makes have good points and bad points wether they are domestic or import. That's why ALL models of vehicles depreciate. You need to decide on a used car that will be the most reliable and the cheapest to maintain.

IMHO, I would recommend domestic as the parts are way cheaper than the imports.

PS as for Shaq saying Ford and Dodge are crap, I would have to say that is ironic, considering these companies frequently subcontract with Japanese manufacturers for their engines and transmissions in certain models.

If you notice when you are driving, there are still a lot of old Toyotas and Hondas on the road. Never buy a Hyundai, those are crap. I would never buy a foreign car, but Toyotas and Hondas are good reliable cars as long as the are taken car of. I own a 2004 Chrysler and already have problems with it.

You best bet is a late-model Honda Civic

Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla they have good gas milage and there and affordable

Good: Anything Honda (except Passport, which is really an Isuzu); Anything Toyota; Anything Nissan

Bad: GM, FORD, Dodge.....
