The average temperature is 98.6 for everyone. That can obviously vary by one or two degrees from person to person, but 101.4 is definitely high.
Take some Tylenol to try to bring the fever down. If it doesn't go down, or it gets higher after the Tylenol, then you need to see a doctor.

yes it's bad. The average body temperature is 98.6. If you have a fever of 101.4, you should go see a doctor.

Anything of 100 s bad. the average temp for any person is 98.7, however that may very as much as .5 degrees either way. A person over age 12 should know what his personal average is and be able to alert medical providers that it is out of range.
IE I'm a type II diabetic and my temp has always ran 99.1 most of my life. When I had kidney stones last year my temp dropped to 96.4 degrees and the Doctors at the hospital were most unhappy. They never said why but it indicates something is not right ant they have to find it.

98.6 is the average but 101.4 would still be considered a low to mid-grade fever. It is not considered severe and there is no reason to panic.

Average adult (not a toddler) is around 98.6 F. If you already tried Tylenol or something like it, I suggest you go to a doctor or go to the Emergency room.
