I typically give cash for a wedding, but for the shower hoped to give an actual gift and not a gift card either. Dont really know the brides hobbies that well either. Although at the last bachelorette party we went to, she stole my shoes, so did think about getting her a gc to DSW, oh then a pedicure! Any other ideas?

You're right, money gifts and gift cards are NOT appropriate to give at a shower.
Look at the colors of things on her registry and try to get other items that fit the color scheme. Or just think up anything that is a household item that you feel is handy.
Also consider consumable gifts like gourmet chocolates or other gourmet food (spice rack with spices?) or a bottle of champagne for the honeymoon or to save for their first anniversary.

I would get her something from her registry and if she gets a double, she can return and buy something else. Otherwise, how about "A Day at a Spa"? That would be nice. Or manicure and pedicure at her favorite nail salon, or a hairstyle, cut, blow an style at her favorite hair salon. Or a gift certificate at DSW for a nice pair of shoes.

If the registry has been completed, why not look around the store that she registered at and see if there's anything else there that she may have not considered or maybe not seen. Check her registry and see what items she's requested, then find something on those same lines. For example, if she has everyday napkins rings on her list, look for some napkin rings that are a little more fancy.

Maybe make up a basket of smellies with a pair of fluffy or silly slippers; or a basket of kitchen stuff with a "theme" like Italian cooking or another ethnicity - where you could include cooking items. Just some thoughts.
