hey i went to see a phycharist yesterday and she said i was suffering from a severe anxiety disorder, with derealision,and depersonalisation. so she put me on lexapro 20 mg instead of the 10mg which ive been taken for the last month, did any one else get deralisation with their anxiety, cos i feel so scared with it, and if dey did how did they make it go away. eg: what medication. im 17 years old .

honey, he is no PhD, don't listen to him, he's full of himself. No self respecting psychiatrist would diagnose online like that, let alone recommend treatment.
the psychiatrist you went to did the right thing by increasing your LexaPro, but you need to be patient, it could be up to four weeks before you see any improvement. In the meantime, you should be seeing a therapist to help you better understand and cope with your emotions.

I am not a doctor. Though I am on 20mg of lexapro for my obsessive thoughts and I have found it helps me focus. I am on other psychiatric medication for other things. I have been hospitalized and it is very scary. but they only want the best outcome for you. I would keep open communication with your phycharist. what helped me if you can see a psychotherapist. It will explain more about what the medication does for you and why you are on it. I found mine in the same office of my phycharist. It helped me to understand what the medication does. My best advice is to talk to a therapist it really helps a lot even if it is scary. They are their only to help you. Take care of yourself. From a concerned 22 year old.
