Yes, many dogs shed more heavily in the spring to lose their undercoats. It's called "blowing their coat."

I would say yes, I have a pomeranian to and he hardly ever sheds but I've notice a bit of hair on my clothes after I hold him lately. Its not much but more than usual.

YES , all breeds of dogs shed in the spring. They are loosing their winter coat that helped to keep them warm. Would you want to wear your winter coat in the spring & summer? You have to keep him brushed to help him loose the
winter coat. He will put on a lighter [not as heavy or thick] coat.
their coat is the same as clothes to you. When spring comes you put on lighter weight clothes.

Yes. It is a natural way to help them stay cooler for the summer. My wife just shaves hers. It doesn't hurt him it just looks real funny.
