Now that many soldiers are against the war and are protesting? Or, do they only support the troops when they are being shot at in a needless, unjust and bloody war based on lies and on stealing the oil from Iraq?

Duh, as many times as it takes to get an honest and intelligent answer out of a con. Therefore, expect to see it about a thousand more times.

People, I posed a simple question here. Cons are always blaming liberals for not supporting our troops. And, I maintain that liberals and leftists do support our troops. They also support the troops when the troops don't agree with what this government is doing. Conservatives on these boards have called soldiers that question the government traitors and cry babies along with other derogatory names. This isn't a conspiracy against you. This is a simple question of whether you will support our troops if they increasingly decide that this war is wrong.

That does not make 'many' soldiers.

All the ones I know (from being amilitary wife for 10 yrs) want to go back if they aren't already back. There are 2 Soldiers I know that don't. That's it. TWO.

That tells me that the majority of the soldiers want to finish what was started.

I think this war is about many things, not only about the oil... Sorry, I just don't agree with your statement on that.

I'm not going to go into detail about my views (too complicated), but I'll give to two different views that I have heard.

I lived for a couple of years in the Middle East and just recently returned to the US. My friends there believe that the war is mostly about keeping the Middle East unstable... so that no great power can rise there that would rival that of the US. If all the Middle Eastern countries were to stablize and join together, as a whole, they would be more powerful than the US or any of the other western countries.

That allied together, the Middle East would have the money, the natural resources, the technology and the manpower to rise as a world power.

Now for the other view...

I also have friends who believe that losing the war in Iraq will come back to haunt the US later... That the war being fought there is a war against terrorism...

I do not agree with everything that is said on the website I posted below, but here is the link that supports that "war on terrorism" view...

There are a couple of short movies that last about 3 minutes... check them out.

So are you writing a report. What is you're idea of a con? My fiance is a felon. But what does that have to do with a person having certain thoughts for or against? Do they have to be cons? Military? Military families? regular civilians? politicians? What exactly are you doing this for? trying to census us for the government?

I get asked the stupid Iraq question all the damn time. I served there. No my fiance and I do not support Iraq, we support Afghanistan. He supports every military person that served( His father, stepfather, brother, me, my father, and other family members), serving (his and my friends, his sister in law), and will serve ( his son and maybe my daughter....I stress the maybe she is still little).

Do you support us? Answer truthfully. Can you honestly say that you would give you life for me and my family the same way I would have willingly gave mine. Or would rather ask me questions.
