Short Answer: Yes!

There are 4 games at which you can make a living:

Table Poker or other player banked games, these takes a long time to master and not everyone can do it.

Video Poker: You have to find the good machines and you have to memorize perfect play strategy, which is the good way to play every single hand. Then, you will win about 0.5% to 1% of everything you bet, playing 500 hands an hour would get you 5 bets an hour (professional players play up to 1000).

Sport betting: Study statistics and try to find odds that gives you an advantage because of over evaluated situations.

Blackjack: Card counting. First, learn Basic Strategy (http://www.blackjackinfo.com/bjbse.php), then learn to count. I recommend using Blackjack Institute, these guys were the most successful team to every play at Casinos. Basically, this is how it works: on games where the decks are not shuffled after each round, every times a card is gone, there is 0% chance of seeing it again. When there are more 10-A in the deck, you have more chances to win, the opposite is true for cards that have a value going from 2 to 6. Start with a count of 0, when you see a 2,3,4,5 or 6, just do -1. Do +1 when you see a 10 or an As, then when you are going to bet, divide your count by the number of decks remaining, subtract 1 and bet that amount of units. Let's say you see these cards: 2,4,5,5,6,8. Your count is +5, now let's say there is about 2.5 decks remaining, your true count will be 2, now 2-1 you will bet 1 unit (the size of the unit will always change).

They are losing. They are addicted. Please don't go there and think you are going to win. When they have an occassional win they go back and try to win more.... but then they lose a certain amount and think that they are "due" for a win and stay and end up losing more. I have seen people ruin their lives. Also, if you ever hear someone in a casino really celebrating and yelling yahoo! I just won.... well the casino hires people to win and be loud about it. They come into work (at the casino) and get a certain amount of cash (the way that a cashier gets a till) and they go out and play and when the "win' they make a huge racket so others would feel the excitement and bet more. It happens all the time... we lived in Las Vegas when I was young and my mother worked in some of the casinos. It is such a bad idea. She hated it there and didn't like seeing people ruin their life.

I deal poker for a living here in Vegas and we do have a lot of the same players and we also have a nice mix of locals and some do make a living playing poker, And i know 2 people who just bet on sports for a living but you have to have a lot of skill and patents to grind out a living playing poker or sports betting. All other games the casino has an edge so you can't make a steady living on other table games, but poker is a game that can make you money, i have made good money playing part tI'me but im not consistent enough to do it for a living so i keep my day job.You have to be pre paired for long runs of bad luck and bad cards.

Some folks make their living that way.

Personally If I was thinking about doing it I would play a game where at least I had some control over my own game. I would play either Black jack or Texas Hold 'em. Anything else you don't have any/much control over what you do.

One thing else, if you do decide to try and make a living gambling, you have to manage your bankroll. Don't spend more than 10% of your bankroll at a time.
