He's 3, he's new to us, and we have been reassured that he is toilet trained! Mostly on the floor, but a couple of times on the sofa. It's more like 'spraying' than 'peing' very often.
I'm learning about dogs on the job (with the help of a few books and friends), but is it normal for an adult dog to spray this much. Is he trying to hide the cat smell?
Should we start from the beginning with potty training again, or will he get used to the house and stop.
(he also sprayed 3 times in the pet shop- we were only in there 10mins- I was so embarrassed!)

I watched 'its me or the dog' on channel4 and from that i can tell you that you need to be letting your dog out for very regular visits to the garden to pee, also monitor how much the dog is drinking. Also it may have something to do with being territorial. You can buy the book its me or the dog from amazon.co.uk or probably waterstones, im sure it will be usefull.
