That is deff. something to be concerned about, i would advice to see a doctor. Although there are many things that cause the hair to fall out that are not medical worries. Such as stress, weight loss, and things of that nature. You said you were washing her hair, so im assuming that shes very young, if she goes to daycare, someone could have been tugging at her hair and it just hadn't fallin completely out, or the new growth from her baby hair is starting to come in, tangles can put alot of stress on her tresses so that could be another. Just visit her pediatrician and tell them about the situation they should clear up any worries you may have.

To relieve your worries you should probably take her to the doctor. Everyone experiences some hair loss every day. In fact, it is normal to lose up to 100 hairs a day. The most common type of hair loss is androgenetic alopecia, which involves thinning hair or balding of the scalp. Other, less common types of hair loss can cause hair shedding (when clumps of hair fall out) or hair thinning. These types of hair loss may be caused by an illness (such as alopecia areata, trichotillomania, traction alopecia, and telogen effluvium).

This is definitely a take her to the doctor scenario, but, in the meantime, take a look at some of the possible things that could cause it via the web...

One thing is Alopecia.

My cousin has this... it's not life threatening and is one of many things that can cause hair to fall out!

Good luck, and do a little research.

Yes, I would call and make an appointment for the doctor, She might be lacking in Vitamin B"s,But the doctor would have to check her blood for that. To be on the safe side make an appointment.

I would take her to the doctor.... You just never know what could be the cause these days and you're better safe than sorry, especially when it comes to your babies.
