Recently one of my cats ran away. she got out of the house through the garage one morning. My other cat is so sad. She crys and looks out the window for her sister everyday. She is also way more needy than she ever was before. Please some one help me. What should I do? Should I get another cat for her to play with?

I'm so sorry you lost your kitty!
kitties do get very attached to each other, and when a cat loses a friend, he will certainly be heart broken. I've had this happen to me and it's so sad.
The good news is that if you get another cat for your bereaved kitty, it should solve the problem. The cats will become friends and your cat will stop grieving.
i would defiantly get another kitty. I'm sorry for the loss of your furry friend.
Good luck!

Have you taken steps to find the other cat? You should do that before you think of getting a new one. The cat remaining is of course missing her sister. Just support her increased neediness for now becuase in time she will heal and get over the loss - like we all do.

no no, what I suggest is intergration. Why a another cat or kitten? Try getting a mouse or a dog as a new mate for your cat, and then your lonely cat will come back to life. Meowww, meow meow, ruffff, grrrrrrr. I tried this once with my cat after her cat friend eloped with a dog, no joke, my world turns out that way even if you don't believe me. If you give a dog a chance to be a friend of a cat, then guess what, the cat will run, but a dog who really wants to have a friend will not chase a cat, he will pace himself, then, carefully that dog will ease on to the cat and start lickin its face, and then, good luck!!!!

Yes your cat probably is heartbroken! When one of my friends cat died the other one was acting like yours is.
You should not get another cat your cat would probably reject it. Try as hard as you can to find the other one! If you can't find it then just give it a little time your cat is very much like a person and it will get over its loss.

awwww. Yes, of course animals grieve the loss of their companion animals. Especially indoor animals. Please check the Found adds in the paper, the humane society and other animal shelters. Getting another cat probably will not change the behaviour, as the smell will not be what the remaining cat is use to. Also, if you do get the lost one back, they will have to go thru a "re-aquainting" period.

Have you put up posters to find her? Called the local human society to see if someone turned her in? First, do everything you can to find her before thinking of replacing her. Cats do grieve, but replacing her too soon might just tick your other cat off.

robably they are smarter than we think. I adopted 2 stray cats and one got killed in the neighbors car motor, but my huge dog adopted the cat, bathed it everything. so it was not so lot so lonely after awhile
