If a student has good grades, some insurance companies give them discounts for this, it's based on the gpa of the student. My stepdaughter had great grades, we received the discount, however, we had three other kids that had average grades, and one was a male, it made our rates quadruple when I added two of the four on to our policies, as sometime drivers. Call some insurance companies, see what they say, as far as the state you're living in deciding if you can get a driver license or not, is far too agressive in my mind. Having good grades doesn't always mean the student will drive responsibly, the stepdaughter drove far above the speed limits as often as possible, the immaturity is usually still there in some way.
