I bought wee-pads. Sometimes she uses them sometimes she'll pee or booboo right on side of it. I just sit and laugh, thinking if u wouldve been 4 more inches to the left to the left. I take her outside about 20min after she eats and as soon as I come in the door, she goes to use it, not on the wee-pad. Any tips? Thanks in advance!

How many times have I had my Shih Tzu's run to the wee=pads just for them to miss it like you just said. And I am sorry but watching them try so hard and missing makes me laugh too .

Ok the answer I am going to give you didn't come from me. It came from an answer to this question a while back and it came from an ID name peachesdeese. The answer this question better than I ever seen anyone answer it and it is worth repeating all over again. So the following is an answer that peachesdeese gave some one else.

The best time to get a puppy is when your going to be home for a couple of days. (Like the weekend.) That way they have a little time to bond with you and they tend to listen a little better.

Potty training a puppy isn't a matter of time....its a matter of timing.

Instead of thinking....."Take the baby out every couple of hours" Do it this way....

When it wakes up.....take it out
When it finishes eating.... take it out
When its done playing... take it out right then

A puppy lives in the "right now" state.....
When it wakes up...al it knows is its gotta pee! And if you don't take it right then it will pee where ever!

Same thing goes for playing and eating.

Regardless of what people say, crate training is bad for a dogs mental state. The perfect way to confine your pet from roaming your home while your gone is to put it in the kitchen/laundry room/bathroom with a baby gate. Don't close the door. A baby get will make your baby feel less confined and the puppies mind set will be better. Give them plenty of toys and a bed on one side of the room, peepee pad on the other side of the room and food and water in the middle. (Puppies don't normally like to poop where they sleep!)

It is possiable....with patience....to teach a puppy to use the peepee pad AND go outside. This training method has worked perfect for me and the animals I train!

She gave me premission to include this in my puppy kit..I think it is worth wild.

I couldn't said it any better than peachesdeese did.

Well there are many ways to house train your loving puppy.

1.) Try getting training mats/pads. As your pup is using these mats slowly move the mats closer and closer to the door and finally outside. This methods helps a lot of people but not all.

2.) Try keeping your loving pup with you on a leash. You will begin to see signs that your pup will make when it needs to go out. This is part of what I did when traing my pup and my brothers dog as well.

3.) Even if the above two don't work their is still hope. Try laying on your bed and keeping your dog on a leash maybe in your hand or tied to the bed. This will make your dog lay down and it will eventually sleep. You will see those signs as your pup wakes and then you know it is time for it to go out.

4.) If none of these work make a checklist:
a. Do not any under circumstances allow the pup water after eight at night.
b. Be sure that it's sleeping quaters don't allow the pup to make a accident and then leave it. (A dog generally wants to be clean so it will not make a mess in where it sleeps.)
c. Create you dog a schedule that you folow everyday, inclding a regular time outside. Slowly as your pup has no accidents expnd the times of when it goes out.
d. Instantly let your pup out after he/she eats. I know it seems odd but they need to go out.
e. Don't play with your pup outside I know it's tempting but then the pup thinks it's play time not bussisnes time.
f. Create a word that you and your pup know means to do their bussiness like "outside" and then once they understand ask if the want to go "outside" eventually the pup will understand.

~Hope this Helps~ =)
