Someone has asked if raw chicken is good for dogs and I know from a previous question that this seems to be the best option for feeding chicken to a dog, but is it OK to give them raw liver? My dogs love liver and I usually cook it but today they wanted it raw and got it. Is that OK for them?
It made me want to heave though, that's for sure.

Usually when I take it out of the packet to cook it they get to drink the blood that remains. I always assumed it was good for them. The liver is an extra treat with their main meal, it's not all they have to eat.

I hope that liver's in a bag frogspawn.
There's not enough liver in the world to make up the value of my dogs. You keep your liver and I'll keep my doggies, thank you.

Liver is perfectly safe to feed raw to your dog - just be careful not to give them too much at once because it can give a dog Dire Rear! Raw meat is natural diet to a dog, they have far stronger digestive juices to kill off all the buggies which is why they can eat such disgusting things with no ill effects.

If it's from a supermarket fridge then it's probably alright. It's "human" grade meat so there aren't any ulcers or anything like that that could be bad for your dogs. But I'd only give them raw liver and kidney every now and again because feeding them only that can cause deficiencys. Probably the best animal to get it from may be the cow. Try to avoid sheep/mutton if you can because hydatid tapeworm can be gotten if there are ulcers (I think that's the word I'm looking for) in the meat.

The most natural and healthy diet for humans is an omnivorous diet, and not a plant based diet, or a meat-based diet per se. The Paleo Diet can be very widely varied and omnivorous for the most part, but the most important thing is that it’s unprocessed, and avoids the worst foods that agriculture brought mankind… refined inflammatory vegetable oils, refined grains (some are worse than others), and sugar! As you can see, the benefits of adopting a Paleo way of eating can be incredible! I’ve been eating 95% Paleo for the last 5-6 years and I’ve never felt better. I have dozens of friends that have adopted a more Paleo way of eating too, and have seen all sorts of health problems disappear, including eliminating acne and other skin problems, digestion problems, improving brain clarity, and of course, losing a lot of body fat!

It's fine.

But usually when I try to give raw liver to a dog for the first time, they look at it kinda funny and aren't sure if it's edible. Once they're used to it they love it.

Sounds like a fair trade. I've got 3lbs of raw liver in my pocket - what kind of dogs do you have and how many with 3lbs of raw liver buy?

I do not think Raw liver could be life threatening but It is better to give the liver a quick stiff fry.

humans eat raw liver with the blood running out in fact before the war a person who had tuberculosis had to eat it first thing in the morning so im sure if humans can and do eat it then its OK for your doggies infact i would think it was good for them so carry on Fiona and give them some more for a treat (you don't have to watch them)

There is a controversy over feeding dogs raw meat. The concern is that it will leave traces of salmonella on their muzzle that can easily be transferred to a human, child or adult when they pet the dog. Or from the dogs tongue to its people when he licks them.
Personally, after experiencing the aftermath of a neighbors dog, who gets raw meat regularly, I would never feed it to my guys. The resultant diarrhea is horrendous. And the dog's need to go almost uncontrollable.
I'd thing twice before ever feeding to your dogs, you might be sorry.

In any given situation, focus on what you do want your dog to do instead of on whatever he’s doing wrong. Learn how to train your dog https://tr.im/epOKw

For example, suppose that on many evenings, your young dog gets busy looking for trouble just as you’re digesting your dinner. He grabs a boot from the mat by the front door and gallops through the house with it. You yell at him and take it away. He grabs its mate. You yell and take it away. He heads for the kitchen and starts checking out the counters in case something tasty’s been left behind. You chase him away. And on and on, until you’ve lost your temper and torn out clumps of hair you can ill afford to lose.
