If you want to break up then do it! Your not married! Thank God for that!

Do you love him? If you feel that your relationship is losing the excitement, and you really are sure that you can break it off with him for good, then do so. If you really want to be single and test the waters, then do so. But keep in mind that true love is rare. Once you find it, don't let it go. Now seeing that you're only a sophomore, dating at this point would just be for fun and just being a teen. What ever you decide, think about how you feel about your boyfriend. Sixteen months is an awfully long time, and I assume a really strong relationship. Are you willing to let that all go to see if you're compatible with another guy?

Hey there. I think if you wanna be free be free. I mean if you are only in high school and don't want a commitment then i say go for it. He may be a great guy so you wanna think this over. i mean is he more important then the freedom or is the freedom more important to you.Iis he too smoothering, or hardheaded or is he lovable and sweet? You have to be willing to weigh out and balance this. Make a list of pros and cons , for example :do you like someone else, are they better
for you, do you want some spare time with your freinds. Whatever it is consider your options and what is generally good for you. Take a chance girly and go with your heart on this one ok?! Thanks have a good day bye!

You are still young and there's nothing wrong with wanting to be single. It's better that you break things off with him now before you do something that will hurt him more. Just be honest with him, he will appreciate that more than you staying with him out of pity.

Tell him your feelings -- if you your bored then things are that great anyway and your young still its better to end it while you still are in good terms you don't want him to get bored and cheat or visa versa -- take a break for awhile if you guys are meant to be you will be.

I've had a similiar problem and people told me to follow my heart witch kind of confused me and i kept thinking about what they said and i kept thinking of him and of us so while I was thinking I asked myself do I love him, does he love me, is this a relationship thats going to last, is this a relationship I want to continue, or do I want this and I didnt want to make a huge mistake so I told him how I felt and we ended up being awesome friends he was kind of upset (not mad) but after a while he was cool with it and im glad I made that decision. So follow your heart and ask yourself questions like mine. Hope I could help

You are stilll very young, and you sound like you want to date other guys,,That's all fine and dandy but make sure you don't hurt him in the process,,,Talk to him about dating others, and being friends, who knows maybe he wants to do the same...if u have a deep love for him though u might really regret your decision..Good luck!

After dating him for 16 months this should definitely be something you can talk to him about. Have a nice chat with him and politely state your feelings. Who know maybe he feels the exact same way about you.

do you love him? if you do then why break it off; if you dont then go and break it off with him. if you're meant to be you'll find your way back to him or vice versa...btw why dont you want to have the same guy as your partner all through highschool?

you can also ask for space and gauge yourself if you are happier with or without him...

If you were happy you would not be asking a bunch of strangers for advice on your relationship. Ask him if he is still in love (like) with you and if you really want to continue a realtionship where you are unsatisfied. Never be afraid to get out there and meet new people!

If you're bored with him you may cheat, and that is going to hurt both of you, and ruin any chance of salvaging a friendship... I would just tell him that you still want to see him and be friends but you want to be able to date other people. Just tell him exactly how you are feeling.
