how much is a usual van insurance in the uk?

My vehicle is a 1994 Ford Transit LBW 190 diesel, colour red, three seats. I paid £1000 for it including repairs, but I don't want to pay another £1000 each year for insurance. I got my EU driving license 3 years and a half ago. I think I'm missing something... someone in similar circumstances? thanks!

You dont say what age you are or if you have any no claims. I would have expected half of that fully comp
