Does anyone know any specific and/proven means (of mind sciences or others, excluding black magic itself!) of knowing this or a person (with contacts) who can help find this out?

No. Unless you find to voodoo doll or a hex or cursing symbol, or have pissed off someone who isn't afraid to curse you I wouldn't sweat it. Not all bad things are caused by "black magic". I mean - if you haven't pissed off someone who might throw a curse at you -- what would make you think of "black magic" in the first place? I suppose I'd need more information in order to really answer.
