I think Arabic will open more doors for you in the future.

I know many Arabic men who are highly educated urbane men and they swear English is so limiting when it comes to expression of emotional and spiritual matters. I am always amazed at how they speak when they translate from Arabic to English. Their verbal precision is amazing. LOL I remember one saying to me, "That red does not suit you my dear. It gives your skin a rather florid tinge. A caramel butter brown would ... "

I also think as our world changes there will be more opportunities to use Arabic in the workplace. It will be a good skill on a resume. If you decide to work in Dubai or one of those places it will certainly stand you in good stead!

I am currently exploring options with a Pakistani man who got his Psychology degree in Russia and speaks the language as well as Arabic and a few other tongues. He never uses his Russian he says, whereas Arabic is quite common.

Besides... the Arabic culture (NOT what you see in Saudi Arabia, a true fascist country) is just so warm and exciting. Better foods, better manners, much more elegant in all ways.

Good luck. And no, not too good to be true! My daughter was just offered a scholarship to get her masters complete with stipend also. SOMEONE looks out for promising young people and they do occasionally get a good break.

Congratulations and gooood luck.

First of all, it does sound too good to be true... Hmmmm.
Secondly, the choice of language depends on how you are going to apply it.
I'd say Russian is probably more difficult in spelling and grammar, because of all the flexes and cases...
Arabic is a lot more difficult in pronunciation, I'd say, and also in writing.
Russian at least has some similar letters in its ABC, but not Arabic.

I believe both languages will have equal rise and influence in the years to come. What do you think, are you going to actually use the language after graduation? In your work? While travelling? Or for writing researches?

One thing is, if you choose Russian, I could be your pen pal and help you with it. ;)
