Well, I've been planning to get a dog for a while. My friends have sent me a few pictures, one which seemed really nice.

that is a pomeranian
and to the person that said they are lap companions. they are not exactly lap dogs. they are very energetic little dogs, and can bark quite a bit. they can also tend to be a little territorial, and don't realize their size, so have no problem challenging dogs much larger than them.
they are also NOT good to have around small children. their heads are very fragile and the slightest bump can cause tragedy, including seizures and even death.

What a cutie. This pup is 100% a pomeranian. It a yappie little breed, but a great companion. Also, toy breeds (such as many pomeranians) are generally not recomended for homes with small children.

Don't simply judge a dog by appearance. Learn all you can about the breed(s) you are interested in, then decide what might be the best dog for you and your lifestyle.

this is a pomeranian, but please, please! don't get a dog based on what it looks like! research and talk to owners and/or breeders to learn more about the needs adn charecteristics of each breed.
people who buy dogs without knowing if the specific breed is right for them and their lifestyle, are the reason why all our pounds are full of abbandoned dogs!!
poms for example can be rather yappy and stubborn, training can sometimes be challenging, they need a lot of grooming to look good and for their fur to be healthy. on the other hand though, they don't need much exercise and their size is simply practical.... but there's so much more, please do your homework BEFORE buying the pup!!

he's a cute little pomeranian! they're some really funny, sweet dogs. i always wanted to get some poms, a tiny little dog sled, and a midget...
