I was stopped for drink driving. I blew a reading of 42 mg so was offered a blood test which takes 2 weeks to come back. I know i was stupid drinking and driving. I am awaiting the result and don't know if it will come back higher than the breath test or lower. Obviously i want it to come back lower. Naomi UK.

if the breat test tech was good, it will come back the same or close to it.

Since the blood test was done at a slightly latter time ( what 1 or 2 hours latter) then it shold be slightly lower.

The limit for drink driving 35ml to 100mg breath and for Blood 80ml If the reading is over (80) then to will be formally charged with driving a vehicle whislt the alchol in your blood is higher, ( section 5 RoadTrafficAct )

What was your first intoxicimeter reading? You are lucky it was slighty over. Hopefully the duty doctor ( who normally takes for ever getting to custody ) takes it later rather than sooner which may give you a chance but remember every person is different and the alcohol in your system could be rising depending on how much you had to drink this is only advice and is not to be taken a get out clause.

Overall Naomi - DONT DO IT..IT IS NOT WORTH IT!. EVEN IF ITS 'ONLY ROUND THE CORNER' IF YOU DRINK ( even one ) LEAVE THE CAR AT HOME ..EH! good luck !

The blood test obviously shows how much alcohol is in your blood.
Now when you were arrested only you know how long previously you had an alcoholic drink.
If you had the breath test shortly after your last drink (eg. 1 hour) then that last drink(s) may still be working their way through your stomach.
When you gave the blood sample it was a little later (eg. 2 hours) since last drink(s), there fore by the time you gave blood you will have more alcohol shown in your system than when you blew.
If you blew 42 your going to be charged and taken to court most likely, better buy a bus pass.

Blood try is greater precise. yet by no skill EVER EVER take the breath try. The blood try is merely no longer taken until commonly approximately an hour once you're pulled over and you may desire to finally end up passing in case you wait.

I will never understand why people still drink and drive when they know the outcome of getting caught or even worse having an accident and killing someone. do the crime, do the time!
