The first couple of times let him pay, and then around the 3rd or 4th date - when it really looks like the two of you might be on a roll and are going to keep dating - then it's time to offer to pay your own way (and for both of you on special occasions).

The girl should pay for the date when she asks him out. I'm sick of all this crap about "the men should pay for everything". I don't understand that.
She can take care of herself, anything less is implying (if not flat out saying) that women need to be provided for because they are weak and helpless. With equal rights comes equal responsibility, sister.
But it's polite to offer, no matter who earns more money. In practice, I've taken care of the first few (2-3), after that it's whoever asks who out, and no one's had a problem with it. Now my girlfriend and I switch off dates and it works just fine.

Well, let him pay a few times, and if he is genuine and really enjoys taking you out, and he is naturally a giver. You should pay after the 3rd date, that is very charming, men are impressed by that, it makes then more attracted to you, takes you out of the needy catergory, it also opens the door for a give and give relationship, not just a give and take relationship.

girls are not supposed to pay for the date,but in this day and age men think that if a girl pays for dates they've got it made if they can't pay for the date that should tell you that he is not very responsible with his money
