Even if you were only going 55 in a 40 that is still 15 mph over the posted speed limit. I really don't see how you can beat it you were in the wrong. The price of the ticket is up to the judge. If you go in there with an attitude, your fine will be higher. As far as traffic school goes, you will have to call and ask the court house if you can sign up and have a reduction in fines.

It amazes me how many people say that the cop was a bad cop or use other derogatory terms because they were caught breaking the law.

I have had my share of tickets in my time (none in the past 10 years) and I paid them or did my court date. I never complained about the issuing officer because I was the one who broke the law and I knew it. I did wrong I was caught and I took my punishment. What happened where people can't do that any more?

You can try to beat it, but I doubt you will. You will have to prove the officer was not in a good position to give an accurate reading, and that the radar device is innacurate. It's basically your word against his. Being an ****** to you is a natural reaction, especially if you were endangering the public.

Traffic school is an option to get the point off your record, if it's your first one, and if you didn't get reckless driving since it was 20 over. The ticket should be about $200+, and he should have written the fine on your ticket...well good luck and if this hasn't changed your mind about speeding, then I guarantee there will be more where that came from...

Be sure and take that 'tude in with you when you see the judge. That'll really impress them.

No really.
