There is a cat that comes to my house about every day, he is very friendly. Earlier I was outside playing with the cat and it ate some pine needles off of a small branch on the ground. Is this bad for the cat? Will he be okay?

You are so sweet.
He should be fine.
One time I was walking my Pug dog and I saw this shiny thing comin' out her butt, it was a bell off a cat toy of mine, I couldn't believe it!!
Pet's tummies are very resiliant.

I'm not sure if the pine needles will hurt it or not. Cats, unlike dogs, will generally not eat something that is bad for them; the exception being antifreeze, and general car maintenance items. My cat would go outside and deliberately eat the harsh grass, not the soft, sweet kind. She did this to make herself vomit up what was bothering her stomach. Is the cat thin and hungry? Some cats find certain oils to be like catnip. My friend's cat would just go nuts over ben gay!! My friend put it on her neck for some relief, the results were hilarious. Her cat was in total Ecstasy, rubbing on her neck, biting her lightly, it was funny.

I would suggest contacting a vet and asking what to look for. Pine needles are very sharp - I would think one could easily puncture an internal organ.

I have six cats and they all eat pine needles. My vet said it's just like eating grass for them. They will eat pine needles if there's no green grass around to help settle their stomachs and to bring up hair balls.

I don't know that it is good for the cat.Probably not.But it'll just poop it out.But I recon the cat is hungry. You might want to buy some catfood samples. They are cheap, have 4 different flavors in one box and it's food...I used to take care on my neighbor's cat, because they didn't have the money or the care in the world to feed it.So,I would buy what I have recommended for you.It works!..If you don't want the cat to keep coming around, ignore it and DON'T feed it.
