Cuban Mojito recipe
the original authentic recipe from Havana Cuba
1 teaspoon powdered sugar
Juice from 1 lime (2 ounces)
4 mint leaves
1 sprig of mint
Havana Club white Rum (2 ounces)
2 ounces club soda
There are countless recipes for the Mojito (prounced moh-HEE-toh), but this version is for the one Hemingway himself enjoyed at the Mojito's place of birth: La Bodeguita del Medio in Havana, Cuba. If you are throwing a Cuban theme party (Havana night themed party), plan on serving mojitos.
Place the mint leaves into a long mojito glass (often called a "collins" glass) and squeeze the juice from a cut lime over it. You'll want about two ounces of lime juice, so it may not require all of the juice from a single lime. Add the powdered sugar, then gently smash the mint into the lime juice and sugar with a muddler (a long wooden device pictured below, though you can also use the back of a fork or spoon if one isn't available). Add ice (preferably crushed) then add the rum and stir, and top off with the club soda. Garnish with a mint sprig

yep, i'm cuban and that sounds right to me. everyone has different ideas, but thats how we do it too. tread makes an excellent point too. theres differences in our sugars too. its up to you. some people even use brown sugar and pound it out real fine. theres also an already made mix. its not bad, you just need the rum and a lime.

Note: the recipe above is a good one. However, using powdered sugar will make the drink cloudy. In the U.S., powdered sugar has cornstarch to keep the sugar crystals from sticking to each other.
I recommend you use super fine sugar instead. Or you can make super fine sugar by pulsing regular sugar in a food processor 3-4 times. Let the sugar settle before opening the processor bowl 'cause you don't want to get it in your eyes.

Wow.....imagine the time you would have saved and the accurate information you would have got if you would have just typed that question into a Google search......blows my mind.......
-muddle 9 mint leaves and 1-2oz (how sweet is up to you) of simple syrup into bottom of shaker. (simple syrup is just sugar syrup, use this instead of any type of sugar. sugar does not desove unless heated up)
-fill shaker with crushed ice on top of muddle mixture
-pour in 2oz of light rum
-squeeze in one or two lime wedges.
-shake it.
-pour mixture into serving glass
-fill rest of glass with soda water (shouldn't be much..2oz)
-garnish with lime wedge and mint sprigs.
Yeah, the recipe above....juice of a whole lime into one drink?
