Riverside Drive is beautiful--135th St. is in Harlem, though, so I don't know about how safe it is there.

Anywhere along Riverside Drive is safe since that is prime rental property with direct river views and all. Once you step out of that pocket, it becomes a somewhat different story, though that area being part of Morningside Heights is not as bad as it used to be.
