It's more sad than funny, but yeah. If any person, no matter what religion, would take a sincere look at the gospel doctrine and ask our Heavenly Father if it is true, they would be blessed in so many more ways than they ever knew possible because they could gain a knowledge for themselves...

Actually Christians are supposed to enjoy God, not prove that He exists.
And speaking of Mormons, I don't exactly understand how and why you use this Mormon book, when you have the Bible. I mean, if you believe in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, why don't you read the Bible instead?

I don't think it's funny. I think it is indicative of the inherantly flawed nature of the Abrahamic religions.
Because those religions teach that there is but one way, all practitioners of those religions are in danger of being sucked into thinking only their own ways are the right. It is built into the Abrahamic religions, and it is the same behavior whether done by Jews or Muslims or Christians.
One of the many problems with Mormonism is that the claims regarding the Native Americans and Jesus are not supported by the oral histories of the Indigenous peoples in Question, and for years there has been this attotude of "well, the white people know the truth."
That's REALLY CRAPPY.
Another problem with Mormonism is the posthumous baptism of those diametrically opposed to Mormonism and the claim that the dead have a choice about it. This disrespectful act has been compared by those families opposed to it with raping a child in someone's name and then saying "well, if you choose to reject this gift, that is your choice." The ritual is embarrasingly naive and doesn't work, but the fact that it is the very opposite of what the person wanted when they were alive and disrespectful of the wishes of families and individuals cannot be gotten away from. Add to this the rich history of ancestor veneration in a number of faiths and you have a recipe for disaster.
In addition to this, there is the deliberate sending of young men into dangerous neighborhoods to spread their religion, often against the wills of people in those neighborhoods. When these young men are the victims of crime, and they are, all taxpayers, not just Mormon ones, pay for it.
These are but a few of the more heinous problems with Mormonism. They pale in comparison to the general problems with Abrahamicism, however, and I agree that it is unfair Mormons feel picked on, even if they are often racist and disrespectful of other people and cultures. It is not fair individuals are held at fault for the poor decisions of their religious organizations.

JD...I know that the road is hard for Mormons when it comes to other believers (not to mention everyone else). A lot of people still believe the old stories about them or do not understand some of their practices. Some Christians will never accept Mr. Smith...and I know that is difficult to see and understand but try to understand that we were warned not to believe in false prophets and though he may be real to you...he is not to us. Still...technically you ARE Christians to. Mormonism is hard for people to understand. One thing I know....you are good, good people who have done a lot of good for the world. God Bless You

Sorry friend. You're slick with the words - but you are talking about a different Jesus, another Gospel. Just what St. Paul warned us would happen. Even Satan can appear as an angel of light my friend - and your "Joseph Smith" fell for it all! The Jesus of Scripture died for our sins on the Cross of Calvary (not "sweat blood in the garden), he was not the "spirit brother of Lucifer", and it is by His Grace we are saved - not of works.
2 Cor. 11:3-4 "But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted-- you may well put up with it. (you will have to endure it, or you wear it beautifully, and some do)."

I don't try to prove mormons wrong, mostly b/c I don't know enough about them.
As for some guy named Joseph Smith being able to see God....wanna know how I know that's a lie? It's cause the Bible says that anyone who sees God, dies. Not even Moses was able to see God's face....only His back. So how could some guy named Joseph Smith be able to live after something like that? The answer is he didn't.
Sorry, but just w/ that mormonism sounds a little too wierd for me.

It's not remotely funny! It's very disturbing that ANY and ALL "religious" people out there are so incredibly deluded. Worse still that some of them have guns and positions of influence. Mormons have no special place in the long, long list of religious nutters!

Ummm, sorry, but he was a false prophet, hence the fact that he was wrong. His testimony is basically hallucinations. I don't think its funny, I think its very, very sad. The worst part is how many people actually believe him.
