This depends on numerous factors.
a) dogs need to eat a lot less of quality food, as they have more nutrients. Feeding a healthy food formula (Nutro, Royal Canin) instead of a less nutrious brand (Iams, Ol'Roy, Pedigree) will result in a healthier more active dog.
b) How much you should feed also depends on age, weight and size of your dog. A medium 5 year old dog have about 2-3 cups of food a day.

No, no, no. There is NO set amount you should feed a dog with this much information. It depends on the breed. Certain large breeds, like labs and golden retrievers, will eat until they burst. Other large breeds like Boxers and Terriers will eat only when hungry. My black lab would eat a whole 20 pound bag of food if you left it open on the floor for her.
The best thing to do is ask your vet the next time you take her. Also, most dog food bags have the necessary amount to feed a dog per day based on weight. I highly, highly recommend choosing a more nutritious brand like Eukanuba and Iams over the garbage filler they sell at grocery stores. Pick one of those bags up and follow the directions on the back for the weight of your dog. Feed 2-3 times a day if it is seemingly always hungry, dividing it up evenly, and do NOT over feed. Don't feel bad if it still appears hungry - as I mentioned before, some breeds still have their scavenger instincts and will eat all they can and want more even after that. But, in a nice home, they are not in the wild where the food supply is very inconsistent, and so they do not need to eat so much in one sitting.

You may want to take her to the vet is this just started. She may have a tape worm which is making her feel always hungry because the worm is gathering all the nutrition before it can reach the dog. A dog of that size should probably be fed a cup to a cup and a half of dog food twice a day.

I feed my 22 lbs dog 1/2 cup twice a day, 45 lbs. 1 cup twice a day, and my 140 lbs. 3 cups twice a day (no he is not over weight just a German Rottie). Most dogs will eat anytime you feed them. As a responsible owner you have to make sure that you are not over feeding them. Obesity can have deadly side effects in dogs just like in humans.

well, i have a beagle, shes ALWAYS hungry. we feed her a half cup of purina pro plan in the morning, and then a half cup in the afternoon. She still seems very hungry even after feeding her, but thats just how shes built.
Also, NEVER feed your dog stuff off your plate (or if you like to once in a while DO NOT make it a habit) It is terrible for your dogs teeth and will cause expensive dental problems long term!!!

Dogs should be called HOGS! They eat all the time! I give mine one can of food in the am, some treats throughout the day, and one or 2 bits off my dinner plate as a treat. Also, i found out that dogs LOVE Carrots! They are a healthy crunchy sweet snack that they love!

Ask your Veterinarian. You should feed your pup according to his weight, but I would always take the word of your Vet before asking the general public.

Dogs don't know when to stop eating, unlike other animals. They will eat until they throw up. Ask a vet for info on how much to feed her.

Depends on what kind of pellets you feed her. Go to your nearest pet store and on the back of Science Diet bags is a chart of how much to feed based on age groups and breed. You might even find it on their website. Good luck.
Here's the website for science diet: their adult line of food is most appropriate for your 5 yr old dog.
